IT IS IN YOUR HANDS.

I didn’t learn until I was in college about all the other cultures, and I should have learned that in the first grade. A first grader should understand that his or her culture isn’t a rational invention; that there are thousands of other cultures and they all work pretty well; that all cultures function on faith rather than truth; that there are lots of alternatives to our own society. Cultural relativity is defensible and attractive. It’s also a source of hope. It means we don’t have to continue this way if we don’t like it.

THE S.M.A the Beginning of something special.

Siparuta Mission Academy (SMA) is an SDA Christian secondary school located in the Amerindian village of Siparuta, Guyana, on the Suriname border. SMA opened in September, 2007 to give young people the opportunity to attend secondary school. The school operates under the umbrella of GAMAS,Guyana Adventist Medical Aviation Service, a volunteer organization led by David Gates. The school's mission is to equip students spiritually, mentally, and physically with the heart and hand service required by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, in order that they may be economic, social and spiritual leaders in the global community, winning souls to His kingdom.

The Meeting of an Angel.

I met Rowena Manuel  at work on the 21 of may, by chance. i saw her children and wondered who lived in the house next door to my work place. She told me that it was a mission house for Siparuta mission academy. I was like wow a mission, i immediately thought about the jungle's and what missionaries do in this country. I believe god has sent her to me to answer one of my prayers to give my self to working  in the interior doing something to help others and make life more abundant for humanity. After our conversation i had a brainstorm or a revelation that this is what he wants me to do, to help these people to over come any obstacles that they might be facing out there in the village. Agricultural work is what is needed at the academy,so i will try to get to the mission some way to help develop there land and plants some crops to help sustain the academy and its children. From a spiritual perspective i am looking forward to being in the calm peaceful moment of nature and reconnect with the creator whiles helping to better this mission that has now become my mission in life. stay tune for more updates and pictures from the village on this blog.
